Laura González
Laura González (Spain) is an architect turned jeweler who founded Lalabeyou, a contemporary jewelry gallery and school in Madrid, in 2012. After working as an architect for over a decade, González Sanz transitioned to jewelry design, blending her architectural expertise with a passion for craftsmanship. Her innovative approach to jewelry creation draws from architectural principles, resulting in pieces resembling small-scale buildings with clean lines and industrial-like forms. She explores the technical possibilities of various materials, working with metals, lacquers, and inventive compositions. Her latest collection reflects a fascination with strata, recycling, and modular design. Since becoming a gemologist in 2015, González Sanz has brought additional expertise to her craft. Her work has earned recognition through collaborations with prominent institutions, including the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, and educational partnerships with the Polytechnic University and IED.
