Join fiber artist and puppeteer J Hann in this hands-on fiber arts workshop inspired by Saya Woolfalk: Empathic Universe. Utilizing world-building and storytelling techniques, participants will create tactile hand puppets and learn the art of needle felting and textile collage. Participants will come away with a new appreciation for the exploration of materials rather than focusing on a "perfect" finished product.

About the Artist 

J Hann is a puppeteer, fiber artist, and mover based in New York City. J Hann's textural work draws inspiration from the past and is centered in the weird, wonderful, and whimsical. As a performer, their work has been seen on big and small screens, and at BAM, Lincoln Center, St. Ann's Warehouse, HERE Arts Center, La MaMa, The Tank, Dixon Place, and in venues across the globe. J loves to share the beauty of puppetry and the fiber arts and has led classes with students of all ages across the five boroughs and beyond.
